Friends of Winthrop Park

Baseball is fully in swing at Tallahassee's most family-friendly youth sports venue, Winthrop Park. While the competitive spring season concludes in May with the annual park tournament, Winthrop offers year-round baseball with full seasons also taking place in the summer and fall. During the spring 2013 season, 110 baseball players have on the diamond. Our league is composed primarily of 11 and 12-year old athletes.

Each season, generous local businesses and organizations sponsor teams. But this year, Winthrop is introducing another type of sponsorship, the "Friends of Winthrop" donation program. For $250, donors will be recognized with a special Friends banner in a baseball motif. Banners will feature your business or organization logo, as well as a phone number or web address if you so desire. The banners are placed on the outfield fence and additional recognition is provided by game announcers who will also frequently thank you for your support.

2013 is the ninth year that Winthrop Park Baseball is associated with the Cal Ripken Division of Babe Ruth League, Inc. Sponsors go a long way to ensure that Winthrop's tradition, now over a half-century, continues. Without your support and that of our other generous sponsors, the success - or even the existence - of Winthrop Park Baseball would not be possible. The parents, players, coaches and league officials remember those companies and organizations whose generosity helps make it possible for us to enjoy this great American game at our "Mecca on Mitchell." If you're interested in becoming a Friend of Winthrop, please email us at president@winthropparkbaseball.com.

We encourage you to come to Winthrop Park any time during the season to watch the kids play. Our schedule is available online at http://www.winthropparkbaseball.com/.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call us or drop us a line via email available on the park's website.
